# in other news: lois’ physicality and tactility with clark has always been a highlight of their relationship for me. because it’s a beautiful thing to watch the punches and the casual nudges turn into something more lingering. and to see how clark isn’t quite sure what to do with that change at first but then he sinks into it, leans in like he’s bending with some invisible current. also, i have this meta lying around in a tag somewhere about clark kent and touch. and how a boy who has grown up in a remarkably affectionate family also has to grow up with this awareness of the things that he can do with his hands, his entire body really, sometimes destructive things. every time he discovers a new ability and internally associates them with alienness and difference and something to be ashamed of, it impacts how he holds himself physically. how careful he is, contained. and that affects his relationships with people beyond his family unit. and how touch becomes inextricably linked to trust, love, openness. this is true for most people, but with clark skin is literally his last physical frontier, for him to let you get close enough to touch and be touched is huge. lois bypasses a lot of that the instant she meets him. she’s already punching him, invading his space, and it startles him a bit because he’s just not used to that sort of thing. but maybe it’s also about lois’ implicit trust, she’s not intimidated by him at all and she confronts him physically and challenges him to push back. and i like to think that’s a huge part of why clark is so much more comfortable with her from the get-go than he is with friends who’ve known him since adolescence and such. it’s fascinating with the change from punches to stroking, the way clark’s body reacts to lois’. like is that a conscious decision these actors made because there’s moments, like in that booth in homecoming or on the roof, where you can literally see his entire body vibrate like tuning fork. it’s obscene, really. like porn with clothes on.   …..   this couple’s touching puts all other couples’ touching to shame basically   porn with clothes on   can’t stop staring at the path her fingers make.
